Yesterday we put up a 10′ X 36″ pop up/blow up intex pool. After filling it completely with our hoses, the water looked yellowish. Is this likely due to hard water, and if so will the filter clear that up?

No, this is more likely due to metals. The filter may help in removing the coloration, but you may also consider adding a metal remover agent.
