Question:

What is the correct process to successfully vacuum a in ground pool. This is my first year in my fathers home since he passed away…I have no one to assist me and I fear I may be doing something wrong. I have vacuumed it everyday and still seem to have a build up on the bottom each morning.

Answer:

It sounds like you may have a filtration problem. There may be a hole in the cartridge (if cartridge filter) or you may have broken off one of the "fingers" in the sand filter (if sand filter) or the sand or cartridge may just need to be replaced. It seems unusual that you would need to vacuum the same or similar substance and amount day after day, although check the source. What is the substance? If it does not look like something that could be blowing into the pool from the yard, trees, etc. If not, then it is likely the filtration.
