We just found a dead oppossum in our pool(24FT, Above ground)-may have been in there for 2 days. We removed, I added 1/4 of algacide and 1 bag shock. Is that sufficiant enough chemicals,and do we need to empty our pool water?

You probably do not need to empty the water, but to be safe you should raise the chlorine level to around 20 ppm for a short time to really reduce the risk of certain chlorine resistant microorganisms from causing and issues with your swimmers.
