We just bought a 12 ft. x 30 in. Intex pool (1700 gallon capacity). I want to use SoftSwim products or some other alternative to chlorine to keep the water clean. What do I need to get started? We filled up the pool a few days ago and have not yet added any treatment…is that okay?

You will probably want to get some sanitizer in the pool pretty quick to avoid an algae bloom. The best bet for an alternative is a start up kit that includes all of the chemicals that you will need as the systems like softswim require 3 different chemicals to replace your chlorine. A start up kit should have all of these and a user guide to help you manage this type of system that requires regular routine dosages of the various chemicals.
