We have recently gotten a small pool. We’ve had it up a week now. It used 1″ clorine tablets. We put the first one in, and let it stay a few days. It did disolve, but when we put the next one in, I noticed the pool walls felt slimy. I checked the clorine, and it didn’t register. I went and got a clorinator and put 3, 1″ tablets floating in the pool with the one in the filter. After 2 days, it’s getting slimier, and still doesn’t register. The clorine hasn’t melted yet, and it is new.

Answer:

The slimy feel is probably from not having enough chlorine. You may need to use more tabs or supplement with a shock dosage to help get the chlorine back up.
