Question:

My pool was left unattended for two months. We were gone and the pool service took a vacation! I have been told by another company they hav to empty the pool in order for it to be clean. I don’t believe them. HELP PLEASE

Answer:

It may not be that the pool NEEDS to be drained, but that the cost of fixing the problem (chemicals and time are significant) is greater than the cost and time to drain and start over. At the very least a partial drain and refill would be helpful to lower the organic load and reduce the need for chlorine and/or other treatment chemicals. Two months is a long time to allow a pool to go unattended.
