Question:
Just bought a 15×42 intex pool. Having issues with ph level at 7.5 and the alk at 120 with chlorine at 1/2. What is the easiest way to balance the PH and the ALK?
Answer:
The pH and alkalinity typically go up and down together (with the chemical additions) but it sounds like your levels are actually good at 7.5 and 120. To lower pH and alkalinity use sodium bisulfate (dry acid) and to raise the ph and alkalinity consider: If pH and alkalinity needs raised - sodium carbonate If alkalinity only needs raised - sodium bicarbonate
