Question:
I’m a new above ground pool owner. how do you maintain a ph. what to do if too low and what to do if to high and is the algae agent stuff necessary if you keep up w/ the cleanliness. ie: vacuum, net, shocking, chlorine and filters?
Answer:
The pH treatment chemicals should be clearly labeled such as "pH increaser" or "pH decreaser". The active ingredients will likely be sodium carbonate to increase the pH and sodium bisulfate to lower pH. The algae stuff should not be necessary if you keep up with the cleanliness, most importantly maintaining a proper free chlorine level.
