Question:

I live in Florida where the sun is hot and constant (except when its pouring down rain) and have an oversized salt water pool with no cover that is fully in direct sunlight most of the day. The pool is recently converted to salt and also recently re-marcited. The pool was blue and beautiful until about 5 days ago and we can\’t seem to get the green out now. Normally, the salt gadget is set to 60%. Do we need to adjust the % during the extra hot months of July and August?

Answer:

Yes, during the hot summer months you can expect to use more chlorine even with similar bather load due to the excess heat and UV. Therefore, setting the generator a little higher will help, or to cut down on the generator use you could also shock manually from time to time to suppliment your chlorinator.
