I just opened my pool (2.5 days ago) and the water is green. i’ve been shocking with calcium hypo-chlorate and liquid chlorine). So far there is no change. Should i be using an algaecide?

What is your FREE CHLORINE level testing at? If it is registering free chlorine, then yes an algaecide will also help and is recommended. If not, keep adding chlorine until a level of at least 1 ppm free chlorine is showing on your test.
