Question:
I just bought an 8’x 30" pool that was sold without a pump/filter system. It holds 639 gallons of water. I also bought a cover for it. Total cost of pool and cover: about $55.00.
My question is, what can I do (besides drain & refill every day) to keep the water clean enough for a while without having to spend the $250.00-plus for a pump/filter system?
I guess I wouldn’t mind as much if I could make it last at least a couple of weeks between draining/refilling, though, longer would be better! I’m retired so I have enough time to create a frequent routine if need be, but I’d rather not crank out 2-3,000 gallons of water every week just to keep it clean!
Is there a way to do this without having to buy a filter system?
Any help would be appreciated. All I can seem to find is answers from companies that recommend I buy their products. Frustrating, to say the least.
Thanks in advance!
Answer:
Unfortunately, you really do not want to treat your swimming pool with any chemicals without the proper filtration and circulation, which means adding a pump and filter. Otherwise, draining and refilling the pool will be necessary when the water becomes diry, cloudy, algae-filled, etc.
